My name is Caleb Cohen and I am currently a junior at Washington University in St. Louis. I am a runner who started sewing about five years ago out of a desire to make a fashionable pair of running shorts. A few sewing classes and a lot of YouTube videos later, I learned how to sew. After making my first few pairs of running shorts, I realized what an undertaking making clothes in different sizes could be, but did not give up. I channeled my love for design and style into making bags, and more recently, tie-dyed clothing. Over the years, I have taken some of my profit and given it back to meaningful charities and organizations. I've changed my label from red to pink and donated to The Susan G. Komen Foundation in support of breast cancer awareness and donated proceeds to The World Central Kitchen during the COVID-19 outbreak. Today I continue to donate to the Equal Justice Initiative and other worthy causes. Sewing has become a place where I can both express myself and help others.
